It's like a knife crossed with a grenade. And they can STFU about the freezing - what it freezes like a shell a fraction of a millimetre around the explosion? PLEASE STFU it's just rapid gas expansion causing an explosion. Why aren;t these classed as grenades? No shrapnel?

Compressed CO2 canisters...it's liquid CO2 in those capsules. Under rapid expansion it can drop the ambient temperature to less than 100 degrees below zero for a short time. That'll freeze a whole hell of a lot more than a fraction of a millimeter around the blade.
for you people talking about taking 3 seconds for it to actually work...no. You can stab and push that button at the same time...the dude is just holding the watermelon stable.
For those of you who are scared that this weapon will be used in random crime...give me a break. 1: nobody is going to pay over $300 for a novelty knife just to use it in a crime. 2: if it IS used in a crime, it's easily trackable. Only an idiot would use something so uncommon in a crime. 3: if someone wants to kill you with a knife, a regular $10 knife will do the trick.

That's got to be the most ridiculous statement i've ever seen on this board, and I've seen some real bombshells. A butter knife can be deadly. A ball point pen can be deadly. A screwdriver can be deadly. Everything is made for a reason, and anyone can use something against it's intended purpose. A rifle is made to hunt. A pistol is made for personal PROTECTION. If someone takes those weapons and maliciously harms another human unprovoked, it's not the gun's fault.
There's what...150 gun crimes a day in the US...that means there's over 7 million guns in the US NOT used in a crime every day. Keep the blame where it belongs...on the criminals, not the tools. This is why you have so much crime in the UK...no guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens. They were so effective at removing guns that the criminals are resorting to using knives. The UK government is doing their knife turn-in program...so that may reduce the amount of knives on the streets. Next they'll use clubs. What...are they going to ban blunt objects from citizen possession? Where does it end?
Keep guns in the hands of law-abiding trained citizens and overall crime will decrease, because you never know if the person you're mugging has a concealed weapon and knows how to use it.
New York City, Washington DC, every big city that has outlawed guns in the hands of citizens has a higher-than-average violent crime rate. I wonder why that is? Go to Texas...the crime rates in the big cities are lower than those in the small border towns.
